Toyota Launches New Optio Order Pickers

Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) has launched a new range of BT order-picking forklifts that raise the bar for driveability and safety while helping to boost productivity.

The new BT "Optio" L-Series trucks, available in 1000 to 2700kg capacities, build on the success of the superseded OPUS range.

Optio's leading features include E-Man steering concept; low step-in; BT Powerdrive system; Sensi-platform lift including elevating controls (P-models), and an integrated shrink film holder.

"The E-Man concept's electrical servo steering makes steering easier at low speeds, provides less stress on operators' arms and keeps them safely inside the truck's profile," said TMHA brand manager Dean Watson.

"Optional sideways adjustable steering boosts ergonomics when driving in the fork direction or walking alongside the truck."

Safer entry and exit is made easier thanks to Optio's low step-in height, while a new design backrest offers greater comfort and suits all sizes of operator.

A host of storage compartments can accommodate items and an integrated shrink film holder comes as standard.

"The optional E-bar allows the operator to fit a host of peripheral equipment such as code scanners and laptops and carry them safely," Mr Watson added.

Optio offers improved drive performance thanks to the Optimised Truck Performance program.

"Speed is reduced when the drive wheel angle exceeds 25 degrees improving stability and safety when cornering," Mr Watson said.

Optional Frequency Adapted Suspension smoothes Optio's ride over harsh surfaces by dampening vibrations from the platform's floor.

P-models (OSE250P, OSE120P, OSE180XP) also feature sensi-lift, which raises the entire platform by 980mm for safe elevated picking work.

With lift heights up to 4150mm and Sensi-lift the OSE120CB model offers the added flexibility of stacking and order picking capabilities in one package.

The walk through versions provide direct access to the pallet to facilitate picking of bulky items at variable heights.

Additional options for all models include a folding seat for added comfort; 30kg-rated picking table; second-level step-up kit, climber skids for easy entry and exit of bottom-boarded pallets, and electronically-controlled automatic fork height adjustment.
